Meet Norman - our member of the month in April!

Introduction round: Who are you and where are you from?
So, my Name is Norman. I am a guy from beautiful South Tyrol. By training I am a psychologist and computer scientist.

What made you come to Berlin?
Around 2012 I was transitioning from being a user experience researcher to becoming a hands on software developer. I was still living in Vienna at that time. I happened to be very much into mobile (did a few research studies on mobile) and figured Berlin could be a great place to get things started - new career, new city.

What exactly do you do? What's in the pipeline for the near future?
I am currently working as a contractor for Gematik where we are developing the eRezept for Germany. A larger project that is one of many to digitalize the health care system. Specifically, I work on the Android app that will allow people to manage prescriptions in a digitally.

Since when do you cowork at Office Club Berlin Prenzlauer Berg?
It is actually the 2nd round at Office Club Berlin Prenzlauer Berg. I happened to be here for a short stint in 2016 and then came back last year in October.

What is the benefit of using a coworking space for you?
Since my current job is a remote position I could have stayed at home as well. But for me coming to a dedicated place where I have my gear set up and being away from home is just the right fit. At Office Club I specifically like the way the place is decorated. Also, I like the nice built in coffee place.

Which questions / problems could you help your coworking neighbour with?
I’d say I am generally someone who is open to talking to people. When it comes to work related things I can share experiences I had the chance to gather in my professional life so far.

Do you have favourite spots in Berlin? Something to recommend / consider especially for people coming here?
Good question. Having moved between Italy, Austria and Germany I find it interesting how after a while in a new city/place certain areas become associated with emotions and therefore then become special places. In Berlin I like this feeling of space that I get out of the city. Also, in Summer, I like the lakes outside of the city and the Grunewald.
