Meet Rena - our member of the month in September!

Introduction round: Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Rena Kuwahata. I'm Australian and Japanese.

What made you come to Berlin?
I came to Europe to study a Master's degree in Sustainable Energy. Then I did my thesis project in Darmstadt. After that I stayed in Germany to work and came to Berlin in 2012 for a job. Subsequently I met my now husband and plan to stick around for the foreseeable future.

What exactly do you do? What's in the pipeline for the near future?
I'm an Electrical Engineer by training. I've worked in the Electric Power sector for over 15 years now, mainly doing power system analysis. My passion is in finding solutions for ensuring we successfully transition to a cleaner electricity supply system, and my contribution to this is to make sure that the power grids can safely and efficiently achieve this.

Since when do you cowork at Office Club Berlin Prenzlauer Berg?
Since May 2019.

What is the benefit of using a coworking space for you?
Having  a professional space for focusing on work.
