Meet the team of German Translation Unit - our members of the month in June!

Introduction round: Who are you and where are you from?
We are a translation agency that was founded in 2012 in Madrid and expanded to Berlin two years ago. Our core business is translation from English into German. Currently, our team is 7 translators in Madrid, and 8 (plus a dog) in Berlin.

What made you come to Berlin?
Berlin is a great place to live and work.

What exactly do you do? What's in the pipeline for the near future?
We are a translation agency working for other providers in the field of translation and localization, i.e. we do all kinds of language-related works (translation, transcreation, localisation, editing…) for almost any subject matter (IT, medicine, technical, marketing, HR, automotive, legal, patents – we could also do literature) mainly from English into German.

We are currently expanding our language offer (we have resources for Spanish, French, and Italian into German, and are building up a team to work from German into English as well) and we hope to add some more inhouse translators here in Berlin and in Madrid.

Also, we will start a video channel where we will publish technical and linguistic tuturials as well as interviews with translators “who have an interesting story to tell”.

Since when do you cowork at Office Club Berlin Prenzlauer Berg?
We moved here only a few months ago, in March 2018.

What is the benefit of using a coworking space for you?
We enjoy the service and facilities that Office Club offers. The atmosphere is very nice, the desks are perfect for us, and we like the Happy Hours every few weeks. Also, the flexibility is a plus.

Which questions / problems could you help your coworking neighbour with?
Our team is quite versatile, due to the vast range of subjects we cover, so come over and talk to us, if you like.

Do you have favourite spots in Berlin? Something to recommend / consider especially for people coming here?
Summer in Berlin offers so many nice spots all over the city, especially around here: the beer gardens (Prater), the Cafés around Helmholtzplatz, great ice cream… There is a lovely little cemetary park just opposite the Office Club, which is nice for a few minutes of silence.
