Meet Nexeon's Berlin team - our members of the month in October!

Introduction round: Who are you and where are you from?
We are the software department of an US based company that developes products in the field of neurostimulation. Our current project is an implant for deep brain stimulation that provides relief for patients with Parkinson’s disease. We are currently a team of three people and one consultant from Berlin.

What made you come to Berlin? 
The US headquarter decided to establish a software team in Berlin, because Berlin does have an excellent reputation for software startup companies.

What exactly do you do? What's in the pipeline for the near future?
While the actual implant is designed and manufactured in Belgium, the team in Berlin programs the software that is used by the neurologist to adjust the implant to the customers needs. As Apple products are very famous along physicians, the software is developed as an iPad App.

Since when do you cowork at Office Club Berlin Prenzlauer Berg?
Since February 1st.

What is the benefit of using a coworking space for you?
Flexibility! Normally, lease contracts for office space have a minimum runtime of 2 years. At Office Club we can scale in a flexible way and can use professional technical infrastructure as a small team.

Which questions / problems could you help your coworking neighbour with?
If you’re interested in a job in a young growing team, we still hire people.

Do you have favourite spots in Berlin? Something to recommend / consider especially for people coming here?
For everyone that comes to Berlin an has kids, I recommend the Zoo and the Tierpark. One of my most favorite bars is the Zauberbar Kürbiskern, where the owner is a magician and performs several nice magic tricks for his guests. For cigar smokers I recommend Herzog am Hafen.
