Meet Tino - our member of the month in October!

Introduction round: Who are you and where are you from?
I'm Tino from Accountable, born and raised in Heidelberg, studied in the UK, Cologne & Buenos Aires and since 2010 a resident of beautiful (and messy) Berlin.

What made you come to Berlin?
The entrepreneurial and up-start spirit of the city. Unlike many other great places it felt that Berlin wasn’t built or finished as a city, which gave me the feeling I could be part of building that story. It also feels like the only place with a real cosmopolitan vibe to it in Germany.

What exactly do you do? What's in the pipeline for the near future?
We build Accountable.de - the simplest bookkeeping and tax solution for freelancers and self-employed in Germany to easily get in control of their finances. We’ve been busy building our intelligent engine that gives freelancers personalised tax tips and helping self-employed to get fair priced services from tax advisors. Strangely enough, the pricing of tax advisors in Germany still is quite steep and intransparent. We want to change that.

Since when do you cowork at Office Club Berlin Prenzlauer Berg?
I started last year and Office Club felt like a good place to launch a start-up and keep growing the team. It’s a great place in a really nice neighborhood.

What is the benefit of using a coworking space for you?
The open space and also the opportunity to meet other people. As experts in taxes we always like to help fellow freelancers to navigate this field.

Which questions / problems could you help your coworking neighbour with?
Everything concerning taxes & bookkeeping. What does this letter from the Finanzamt mean? How much should I be paying my tax advisor? What is the easiest way to do my taxes and how can I save some serious money here?
Besides that I have built two businesses before, so I am also always available for a chat on entrepreneurial issues…

Do you have favourite spots in Berlin? Something to recommend / consider especially for people coming here?
There really are a lot, but considering our neighbourhood: I really like Centro Italia on Greifswalder Strasse -  real authentic italian supermarket. Also Tilda is a great coffee place with some really good lunch options.
